Unlike a lot of the modern day Remudas, the Silver Spur uses our mares in the day to day operations of the ranch. We feel it is important to know the quality, ability, stamina, and work ethic of the mares before selecting them for our broodmare band. We don’t just breed lineage, we breed for disposition, athletic ability, trainability, cow sense, conformation and lastly pedigree. Once the mares have proven themselves on the ranch or in the show pen, they go into the broodmare band. We focus our efforts on adding mares to our band that have been used on the ranch.
